Vent: Got demoted after my project crashed and burned last Tuesday

I was running point on a client onboarding system redesign at a marketing agency downtown, and I thought I had it all figured out. Then the database migration failed hard on Tuesday, wiped out 3 days of work, and the client saw the error before I could even fix it. My boss pulled me aside and said 'we need someone with more structure on this' and moved me to a support role. Has anyone else had a project fail so bad it changed your whole job title overnight?

Bro honestly I gotta push back on that a little. One bad day with a database doesn't mean you lost all your structure lol. Sounds like your boss overreacted and you got screwed by a technical glitch not bad planning.

Oh my goodness, I had a friend who went through something similar at an insurance company a few years back. She was leading a team to roll out a new claims processing system and a simple coding error made every single claim from one Tuesday get routed to the wrong adjusters. By Friday, they had three months of backlog and her new title was "quality assurance specialist" which meant she was basically auditing other people's work.
