Warning: Stop putting your bachelor's degree on your resume after 5 years of work experience

Saw 12 resumes last month from people with 8-10 years in the field still listing their college GPA and graduation year, and every single hiring manager I talked to at the USPS sorting office said it makes you look like you haven't moved on.

Wait, isn't the point of a resume to show your full background so people can see how you got where you are? I get that after a decade in the field your degree matters way less than your actual work history, but taking it off completely seems like you're hiding something. A lot of older job postings still ask for a four year degree as a requirement, so leaving it on just shows you met that checkbox. The GPA and graduation year are the parts that should go after a few years, sure, but the degree name and school should stay basic. I've seen plenty of hiring managers who just glance at the education section to confirm it's there, not to judge you. Maybe the real issue is people filling half their resume with college stuff instead of focusing on recent results.
