Was told 'never quit a job without another lined up' but I did and it worked out
My old boss at a call center in Phoenix said if I quit without a backup I'd regret it, but walking out of that toxic place gave me the push to start freelancing and now 6 months later I make more money - has anyone else ever gone against standard advice and had it actually pay off?

Yeah I mean it's wild how sometimes the worst advice turns out to be the best thing to ignore. I had a friend who quit his warehouse job during the holidays because he couldn't stand the 60 hour weeks anymore. He ended up picking up gig work for a few months and somehow stumbled into a way better IT job through a random delivery customer.

My cousin quit his fast food gig last year and now runs a small landscaping company he found on Craigslist lol.
