Took me 2 days to figure out a miter joint that should have taken 2 hours

I was trimming out a window in my own house and kept getting gaps on the top corner. Turned out my saw was off by half a degree from sitting in a damp truck bed. Has anyone else fought a tool issue way longer than the actual project?

Half a degree on a miter saw is just enough to make you question your whole life.

Ha! Yeah that half degree will mess with your head like crazy. Actually a miter saw sitting in a damp truck will shift, but it's usually more than that - moisture warps the blade too.
