My power stretcher broke mid-job in a client's living room
I was working on a big living room install in a new build over in Oakdale last Tuesday, and my power stretcher just snapped at the handle joint. Had to borrow the homeowner's car to run to the supply house and grab a new one, cost me 40 minutes and a lot of embarrassment. Anyone ever had a tool fail like that on a job and had to scramble?

...and that's exactly why I always keep a backup stretcher in my truck now, but I had to learn that the hard way. Reminds me of the time I had a brand new framing nailer jam up on me at like 8am on a Saturday. The thing wouldn't fire a single nail after the first five. I spent an hour taking it apart, cleaning it, putting it back together, still nothing. Ended up at the big box store before they closed and had to buy a whole new pistol grip model I'd never used before, which took another half hour to get the hang of. So yeah, I feel your pain on that scramble.

Man, isn't that always how it goes? I had a similar thing last fall with a brand new air compressor - worked perfect for like ten minutes then just died on me. Took me the whole morning to figure out it had a bad pressure switch from the factory. Ended up borrowing my neighbor's old one just to finish the job, felt like such a waste of a Saturday morning.
