A client in Boulder argued my $450 cleaning quote was too high for a simple fireplace

He said his neighbor paid $200 last month. I explained my price includes a full Level 2 inspection with the camera, which found a cracked flue tile. Do you think we should offer more basic, cheaper service tiers, or does that devalue the full safety check?

Stick with your full inspection. I had the same thing happen where a client balked at my price for a sewer scope. I caved and gave a cheaper look-see once, and of course we missed a major offset in the line. The headache and bad feeling wasn't worth it. You found a real problem he didn't know about, and that's the whole point. Offering a basic tier just gives people a way to skip the important part to save a buck.

But what if a basic check finds the obvious issues and saves them money?
