Decided between an EV and a hybrid for commuting in Denver last month

I live about 30 miles from work in Denver, and my old car finally gave up. I spent two weeks going back and forth between a full electric and a plug-in hybrid. I ended up going with the hybrid because I don't have a garage for a charger and worried about battery range in winter. So far it gets about 50 mpg and I plug it in at a public station once a week. Has anyone else made this choice and regretted it or found it worked out better than they thought?

Wait, you actually get 50 mpg with winter range anxiety? That kinda changes my whole take on hybrids.
