My grandpa's old photo album showed a glacier that's basically gone now
I was looking at his pictures from a trip to Glacier National Park in the 1980s, and the ice was huge. I checked the park's website and it said over a third of the named glaciers have melted since then. Does anyone know a good site to see more of these before-and-after comparisons?

Wow, that's a powerful and sad thing to see right in front of you. It really hits different when it's your own family's photos. I've seen some good comparison shots on the USGS website, they have a whole section on climate change visuals. It's pretty shocking to scroll through. Makes you realize how fast things are changing.

But glaciers have always melted and grown back, right? I saw a thing about how they found old trees under a glacier in Canada, which means it was smaller before. Maybe this is just normal change and the park had fewer glaciers a thousand years ago too. It's sad to see a photo change, but is it really a crisis or just nature doing its thing over a long time?
