Tried a big home energy audit and my power bill went up, not down

Last month I paid a local company in Austin $400 to do a full home energy check. They found a bunch of small air leaks and said my old fridge was a real power hog. I sealed the leaks myself with caulk and swapped the fridge for a new Energy Star model I got on sale. I was sure my bill would drop, but this month it's actually $15 higher. I think maybe the new fridge runs more to keep things cold, or sealing the house made my AC work harder in our heat. It feels like I fixed one thing and broke another. Has anyone else had a good plan backfire like this? What should I check next?

Sealing the house shouldn't make your AC work harder, it should help it. Maybe check if the new fridge's temperature is set too low.

Sealing can make it work harder if the system's now too big for the space, Paul. A fridge set too low does add heat though.

Did paul_stone29 check the fridge's coils?
