I spent $200 on a subscription coffee club and it was a total letdown

Last fall I signed up for a fancy coffee subscription that promised rare single-origin beans from small farms. They charged me $50 a month for four months. Every bag looked nice, but the coffee itself was just okay. I never got that 'wow' moment people talk about. The tasting notes on the bag said things like 'juicy plum' and 'brown sugar,' but to me it just tasted like regular, slightly sour coffee. I kept hoping the next shipment would be better, but it never was. In my experience, you're better off finding one local roaster you trust and sticking with them. Has anyone else felt let down by these curated subscription services?

Sounds like a lot of fuss over some beans.
