Rolled my eyes at pour-over ratios, then a $12 scale fixed my morning coffee
I spent 3 months thinking people who weigh beans were just showing off. My drip machine was fine, right? Then my buddy in Portland made me a cup using a kitchen scale and I couldn't deny it. The same bag of beans tasted like a completely different drink. So I grabbed a cheap scale from Amazon and now I'm one of those people. Still won't buy a fancy kettle though. Has anyone else gotten into measuring and then hit a wall on gear you refuse to buy?

My buddy swore he'd never buy a gooseneck kettle, said it was a scam. Then his sister bought him one for his birthday and he texted me at 7am all excited about his pour over. Real dumb looking back at it.
