Took me a full week to dial in my new grinder for a single origin bean
Just got a bag of a washed Ethiopian from a local roaster. My new grinder has 50 settings. Started at 20, way too bitter. Went finer, got sour. Took me 7 days of trying two shots every morning to land on setting 15. That was the sweet spot. Anyone else have a grinder that took forever to figure out?

Man, that sounds about right. My first week with my new grinder felt like a full time job I was terrible at. Wasted so much good coffee just trying to get one decent shot.

Oh man, two shots every single morning? That is basically my whole routine right there. I started pulling my own shots last year and I swear I went through a whole bag of beans just trying to get the grind size right, not even talking about the actual shot quality. I had so many sour or bitter shots that I just choked them down because I felt bad wasting them. Now I'm at the point where I can get two decent ones in about 10 minutes, but the first one is always just to wake up, ya know? It's like practice for the real shot I actually want to drink.
