Tried a budget hair color brand and my client's hair turned green
I thought I was saving money by ordering a $15 tube of color from a random online beauty supply. Mixed it up like normal, applied it to my client's highlights, and waited. After rinsing, her blonde sections had this weird greenish tint that wouldn't budge. I ended up spending $40 on a corrective treatment just to fix it and lost a whole afternoon. Has anyone else dealt with mystery colors from off-brand suppliers?

Tbh that exact thing happened to me with a $12 tube I grabbed off Amazon. Called "Professional Blonde Toner" and it turned my client's highlights straight up swampy green. I had to do two rounds of purple shampoo and a vinegar rinse just to get it somewhat normal. Learned my lesson the hard way, now I only buy from suppliers I actually know.

Dude that sucks so bad but honestly @shane_nguyen is right, this is just how it goes when you try to cut corners. It's like buying off brand ketchup or store brand cereal - sometimes you get lucky but most of the time you end up regretting it. I've noticed this happens with tons of stuff these days, not just hair color. People try to save a few bucks on phone chargers and they catch fire or mess up your battery. Same energy as those cheap extension cords that melt if you plug in a space heater. It's almost like there's a reason the real stuff costs more.
