Can we talk about my crane cab stretching disaster?
I heard stretching helps with long shifts, so I tried some leg lifts in the cab. Mid stretch, I kicked the radio knob and cranked the volume to max. The blast of static made me jump and hit the boom control. Next thing I know, the hook is doing a little dance over the site. My buddy on the ground thought I was signaling for help. Now I stick to simple arm circles before work. Lesson learned: keep fitness simple up there.

Holy cow you hit the BOOM control?! That's the part that got me. The radio blasting is one thing, but moving the actual crane by accident? I can just see that hook swinging around like a crazy pendulum. Your buddy on the ground must have had a heart attack thinking you were sending emergency signals. That is next level dangerous.

Man, that brings back some memories. What saved my bacon was always keeping my radio hand clear of the controls, like it was a hot stove. I got in the habit of putting it down in the same spot every time before I touched anything else. You're right though, one wrong move and suddenly you're the star of a disaster movie nobody wanted to watch.

Yeah, I once tried a shoulder stretch and elbowed the emergency stop button. My crew thought I was starting some weird SECRET mission. Now I firmly believe crane cabs are just not meant for any kind of exercise.
