My writing folder hit 500 files and I finally looked at the dates
I was just cleaning up my desktop (you know, the usual digital mess) and saw my 'Story Bits' folder had exactly 500 documents. I opened it and sorted by date, realizing the first one was from over eight years ago, a half page about a guy finding a key in a rainstorm. It hit me that I've been collecting these little sparks without ever feeling like a 'real' writer. What's a small, weird number that made you stop and think about your own writing habits?

Hit 300 unfinished drafts once and it freaked me out. Started forcing myself to finish one short thing a month, no matter how bad. Actually helped.

Just hit 400 myself and started calling it my digital landfill. Forced myself to finish a terrible haiku about a confused squirrel last Tuesday, felt like pulling teeth.
