Overheard a stranger at a bookstore say their fantasy world has a currency based on goat teeth
I was browsing the writing section last Tuesday and caught this guy telling his friend about a magic system where the value of goat teeth goes up and down with the moon phases. Honestly it made me rethink my own worldbuilding which was just generic gold coins. Now I'm wondering if I should add something weird like that to my story but I'm scared it's too silly. Has anyone else gotten a random prompt from eavesdropping or am I the weird one for writing down what strangers say?

Ha, yeah I used to think weird currency was dumb but now I get how it makes a world feel real.
