PSA: I thought the 'write for 5 minutes a day' prompt was total bs

Saw it on a blog last month and rolled my eyes, but I was stuck so I set a timer. The first two days I just stared at my screen. On day three, I wrote a paragraph about a guy finding a key in a library book. That turned into a 2,000 word short story draft by the end of the week. The forced start got me past the blank page every time. Anyone else have a simple prompt trick they doubted but actually works?
