Got hit with ransomware on a Tuesday. Ruined my whole workflow.

Clicked a PDF from a client's email. Thought it was normal. Next thing I know, every file on my desktop was renamed to .encrypted. Had to spend 3 days restoring from a backup I kept on an external drive. The note demanded $500 in Bitcoin. Anyone else run into fake invoice attachments lately?

Oh man, sounds like my Tuesday but with less ransom and more forgetting to save a Word doc.

I mean, did you actually look at the PDF before it hit? Like, was it a real invoice from someone you work with or was it just from some random address? Idk, I always wonder if people check the sender's full email or just glance at the name. Maybe it's just me but that's the first thing I'd want to know before jumping to restore everything.
