I messed with the blur tool on a portrait and it actually worked
I was working on a digital painting of my friend and got stuck on the background, so on a whim I set the blur to 35% on a separate layer. It made the whole piece feel more focused and real, which was a total surprise. Has anyone else had a simple tool fix a bigger problem in their art?

Blur tools are low-key magic for fixing weird depth issues. I once had a foreground element that just wouldn't sit right, and a tiny bit of motion blur on the edges made it click into place. It's crazy how such a basic filter can save a piece.

Foreground element that wouldn't sit right" - what kind of element was it?
