That time a hotel in Chicago made me rethink my access needs
I stayed at a renovated hotel near Michigan Ave last month, and the accessible room had a roll-in shower that flooded the entire bathroom floor... there was no lip or curb at all. The water just ran everywhere and I nearly slipped getting out. How do you handle shower setups when the advertised "accessible" features actually create new problems?

Honestly, that sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen. I stayed at a similar place in Denver last year where the "roll-in shower" was basically just a drain in the middle of the bathroom floor, and yeah, water got everywhere no matter what I did. Tbh, I ended up using a bathmat I brought from home and just let the whole floor get soaked, then dried it with towels. Ngl, it's frustrating when hotels claim they're accessible but don't think about stuff like that lip or curb, because one wrong step and you're on the floor. I almost ate it myself when I stepped out and hit a wet spot I didn't see. Glad you brought this up, it's a real issue people don't talk about enough.

@james995 I had a friend who stayed at a similar place and she said the same thing about the drain in the middle of the floor. She actually brought one of those rubber shower mats that fold flat in a suitcase and said it saved her butt. But she still had to wring out a bunch of towels every time she showered. It's crazy how a place can claim to be accessible but miss the simple stuff like a curb that keeps water where it belongs. That whole "renovated" thing sounds like they just slapped a new coat of paint on an old problem.
