The cable tray I kept ignoring finally saved my desk

Saw a post about someone using a $12 wire basket from IKEA under their desk, so I grabbed one on a lunch break in Denver last Tuesday. Bolted it under the front edge and routed all my power strips and USB hubs through it, took maybe 45 minutes with a drill and some zip ties. Anyone else got a cheap fix that sat in the closet for weeks before actually using it?

Wait, you bolted it to the desk itself? Not just clipped it on or something? That's some commitment for a $12 basket. Most people would just toss it under the desk and call it a day. Honestly, hearing you drilled into your furniture for this makes me question who's really in charge here, you or the cable mess. Props for actually following through though, that's more than most of us do with stuff we buy on a whim. Now I'm sitting here looking at the unused shelf I bought three months ago and feeling judged.
