Can we talk about swapping analog stick modules instead of replacing the whole joystick?
I tried swapping just the metal stick module on my Xbox controller after the left one started drifting. It cost me $3 for the part and 20 minutes with a soldering iron. Has anyone else found this holds up as well as a full joystick replacement?

The solder joints on those cheap modules are never as solid as on the factory joystick, so you will just get drift again in a month.

Oh man, I gotta jump in here! My buddy Carlos tried this exact thing on his Switch Pro controller and it was a total nightmare. He used one of those cheap modules from Amazon, and @ben402 is spot on about the solder joints being janky. Carlos had drift back within a few weeks, but then he tried again with a better quality module from a more reputable seller and it's been solid for like 6 months now. Honestly, it seems like the trick is not just the soldering skill but also not buying the absolute cheapest part you can find.
