Fighting a PS5 stick drift fix: is soldering the module the only real fix or is hot glue and hope fine?
Spent 2 hours chasing drift on my DualSense last Saturday before realizing the pot wipers just needed a clean with isopropyl and a cotton swab, but now I keep seeing people say you should just desolder the whole stick module and drop in a Hall effect one, so I'm stuck on whether the $12 module swap is worth the risk of frying the board versus just cleaning it again when it acts up.
Ha, I once melted a controller shell with a soldering iron trying to be a hero, so I am the last person to tell you the module swap is low risk. If the isopropyl fix is working for you, I would just keep doing that and save the desoldering adventure for when the stick is truly dead.
