I thought a 3D model was overkill for a simple bracket, but it saved a whole day

I had to draft a mounting bracket for a job last week. It was a basic shape, so I just did the 2D views like I always do. The fabricator called back with three questions about hole placement and a bend radius. I had to redo the whole sheet. This time, I built a quick 3D model first in Fusion 360, which took about an hour. That model showed a clear interference I missed. Sending the model file with the 2D prints cut all the questions out. Has anyone else found that a little extra 3D work upfront actually speeds things up on simple parts?

My brother does woodworking and had a similar fight with a cabinet plan. He swore 2D sketches were fine until the whole drawer assembly was off by half an inch. Now he makes a quick digital mockup every time, even for a basic shelf. It just kills those little mistakes.

Been there, that's the worst.
