My old boss swore by checking the cutterhead teeth after every 8 hours, and I finally see why

I skipped it once on a long shift and ended up with a clogged suction line that cost me half a day in Mobile. How often do you guys actually inspect your teeth?

My foreman in Baton Rouge made us check every 6 hours, no excuses. I thought it was overkill until a chipped tooth tore up a whole section of PVC pipe on a Friday afternoon. Tbh, that one mistake put us two days behind schedule. Now I just do the quick visual check, it's not worth the hassle.
