Appreciation post: My old boss in Phoenix always said to mix mud for a full 5 minutes, but I tried just 2 minutes on a small patch last month and the finish was way smoother.
I mean, maybe it's just me but I think over-mixing can trap too many tiny air bubbles, idk, has anyone else found a sweet spot for mixing time?

Yo, nobody's talking about the water temp? Cold water from the hose in the morning vs warm from the sun in the afternoon changes how the mud reacts. I swear I get less bubbles when I mix with warmer water, even if my time is the same. It's like it blends smoother from the start.

My buddy Mark in Tucson swears by three minutes exactly. He showed me a wall he did last year and you can't feel a single ridge. The extra minute seems to make all the difference without getting it too fluffy.

So you think that extra minute is the sweet spot? I mean, maybe that's why @wyatt148 gets less bubbles with warm water, it just blends faster to that perfect smooth point.
