One lead carpenter's corner bead complaint stuck with me for a month

Ngl, I used to just nail corner bead on and mud over whatever gap showed up. Then a lead carpenter on a job in Boise pulled me aside and said my corners were 'fine for a handyman but not for what we're charging.' He showed me how to pre-bend the bead to match the wall angle instead of forcing it straight, and that saved me a whole coat of mud on the next three units. Has anyone else had a foreman or GC call out something small that ended up speeding up your finish work?

So did he walk you through the whole pre-bend process right there, or was it more of a quick demo before he moved on to his own work? Curious if that kind of coaching usually comes with a follow-up check on the next few corners, or if it's just a one-time tip you're expected to run with. Seems like the ones who actually care will circle back and see if you picked it up.
