Why does nobody talk about mud drying too fast in winter
Been fighting with hot mud that sets up in like 10 minutes on a job outside Chicago last week because the building heat was cranked. My taping knife kept dragging gunk. Anybody else deal with this or am I just mixing wrong?

Are you mixing the hot mud yourself on site or using premixed stuff? I've found that cheap premixed mud in winter just turns into a sticky mess no matter how fast you work. Might be worth trying a different brand or adding a splash of cold water to slow the setup time.
