That time a cashier at Aldi made me rethink my grocery budget

Wait, you're telling me there's actually decent meat on that rack? I always walked right past it too. Thought it was gonna be all gristle and half-spoiled stuff nobody wanted. But honestly, after reading that cashier's story it kinda changed my mind. My family's grocery bill is getting out of hand lately. I might have to take a real look next time I'm at Aldi. Gotta admit, $60 a week for a family of four sounds impossible but if she's doing it, maybe I'm missing something.

Rant: My sister keeps opening the oven to check on her cake every 5 minutes

Oh man, I've totally been there. What worked for me was getting a little kitchen timer with a loud beep and sticking it right on the counter so they can hear it go off from anywhere. That way she knows exactly when to check it without hovering, and you both get a better result.

I finally got past the carbon dating problem at a site in Colorado

Oh man, that's so true! My buddy Jake was trying to seal his new patio and he just went straight to applying the sealer. It looked great for like two days and then started peeling up in these gross little flakes everywhere. He had to rent a pressure washer and spend a whole weekend stripping it all off and starting over. He told me after that he spent more time fixing it than he would have if he just prepped it right the first time.

Am I the only one who wasted $60 on a 'premium' book club discussion guide?

Ugh @hill.sarah that is such a scam. I've been burned by those "toolkits" before too. Honestly, I just start my book club meetings by asking everyone what they thought of the ending first, it usually gets the good arguments going without needing a fancy map. If you want real discussion questions, just hit up your library's free resources or grab a list off a book blog, way cheaper than a trash can liner.

That fancy borescope I bought off Facebook Marketplace...

Is it just me or does it feel like everything online these days is a gamble? I've noticed that trend with all sorts of stuff, not just tools. People will slap a fake logo on a box of junk and call it a name brand. It's like the whole marketplace is turning into a giant game of "spot the scam." What did you end up doing with that thing?
