I finally stopped preheating the oven after a disaster at my sister's place

Last month at my sister's house in Denver, I forgot to preheat for a frozen pizza and it still came out perfect in 20 minutes. Why are we wasting all that time and energy waiting for the oven to beep at us? Has anyone else just skipped preheating and lived to tell about it?

Preheated ovens are a scam, my frozen pizzas have been coming out fine for years without it.

Wait, you're telling me you actually cook frozen pizzas in a cold oven? Like you just slide a Totino's or Red Baron into a room temperature box and turn it on? I tried that once with a Digiorno and the crust came out like soggy cardboard while the cheese was barely melted. The whole middle was still cold and raw. Maybe you're just lucky with your oven brand or something, because mine definitely needs that preheat or it's a total mess every time.

Last week I accidentally left a Jack's pepperoni in the freezer door overnight and it got a little freezer burned, but I threw it in cold anyway and it came out weirdly perfect. @lee_butler I think the trick might be convection ovens or something because my buddy swears by his old gas range and his pizzas always come out like that too. Digiorno is definitely a different beast though - too thick for the cold start method in my experience. I stick with the thinner cheap ones for that approach and they work way better than they have any right to.
