That moment I cut into a live wire at a 1950s bungalow in Hazeldean

I was cutting out old baseboard with a multitool and zing, sparks flew because someone had stapled romex right behind the trim. Had to call an electrician buddy to fix it on a Saturday and it cost me $300 and a six pack.

$300 and a six pack just for finding some hidden wire? Did he at least help re-run the whole section or just patch the cut?

Did he at least help re-run the whole section or just patch the cut?" Honestly at that point I was just grateful he came out on a Saturday lol. He did patch it up proper but the whole thing was my fault for not testing the wall first. Classic case of me saving five minutes and costing myself three hundred bucks and a case of beer. My wife still brings it up every time I grab the multitool.
