Had to pick between reflowing a laptop GPU or replacing the whole board
Picked the reflow last Thursday on a 2017 HP Omen and it worked great for 2 days before the same graphics glitch came back, has anyone else had better luck with a full reball instead?

Held my breath reading that and yep, two days is basically a ticking time bomb. Reball might buy you another week but honestly it's usually just delaying the inevitable with those HP boards.

Reballing those HP boards has actually worked out for me more times than not. I get the skepticism but a lot of the failures come from guys using cheap flux or not preheating the board right. Two days is rough but if the GPU itself isn't cooked a proper reball can give you months or even years. I've got a DV6 sitting here that I did over a year ago still running fine. The issue is usually the underfill cracking not the balls themselves, so if you clean that off good and use quality solder it's not necessarily a death sentence.
