Table my local repair shop swore by thermal paste spreaders - called them a gimmick for years until I did 6 board swaps in a row on some old Xbox consoles and saw the difference myself

Man, after 6 board swaps your fingers are basically toast. That repetitive scraping just kills your grip. A spreader would save so much time and hand pain. I get why people think it's overkill but for batch work it's smart.

Lol thermal paste spreaders always felt like overkill to me too. But after doing that many board swaps in a row I bet your hands were just begging for some consistency. Guess sometimes the gimmick wins when you're dealing with repetitive work like that.
