Just swapped out an old relay logic controller for a new programmable one on a 90s Otis
The old system had about 40 relays and took me two full days to trace a single floor skip issue. The new PLC I put in last week has maybe 10 components total. I found the fault in under an hour because the diagnostic screen just told me. Has anyone else made this switch on an older unit and seen the same time save?

Man, I feel that. I spent half a day once just listening for a click in a relay rack, only to find a wire had worn through under a cable tie. The new stuff just shows you "Input 7 Fault" on a screen. Makes you wonder what we did with all that extra time, doesn't it? Probably just looked for more relays to check.
