Finally figured out how to automate my morning email routine after 2 years of frustration

Last Tuesday I spent 45 minutes setting up a simple rule in Gmail that sorts all my newsletters into a folder. I have been getting over 30 emails every morning for years and I just ignored them. Now I only see the important ones first thing. It took me less than an hour and I wish I had done this back in 2021 when I first started working from home. Has anyone else found a simple filter that saved them a ton of time everyday?

Hold on, you spent 45 minutes setting it up. I feel like you could have done it in like 10 minutes if you just used the "Create filter" option from the search bar (you know, the little down arrow on the right). Just type in "unsubscribe" or the sender's name, hit create filter, and check "Skip the Inbox" and "Apply label." Saves you all that digging through settings. That's how I do my daily deal emails from stores, works like a charm.

Wait, are you saying there's a faster way to set up email newsletters besides digging through Gmail's settings menu? I always go into the filters section from the gear icon and it takes forever. That drop down arrow trick sounds way quicker, I'll have to try it next time I'm cleaning up my inbox.
