Finally figured out why my phone kept dying by noon every day

I spent 6 months blaming my 3-year-old battery and even bought a new charger that cost $25. Turns out I was closing all my apps every night thinking I was saving power, but on Android that actually forces them to restart fresh in the morning and drain more. A buddy at the post office showed me his phone lasts 2 days just by leaving apps open. Switched last week and now my battery hits 8 PM with 30% left. Have you guys ever fallen for that old closing apps myth?
