Had to choose between a standing desk add-on and a full new desk last month

I work from home 3 days a week and my back was starting to complain. My old desk is solid wood so I thought about getting one of those $150 riser things that sit on top. But after measuring I realized the riser would push my monitors way too high since my desk is already at 30 inches. Ended up getting a $250 crank height adjustable desk from IKEA instead. The assembly took about 45 minutes and now I can actually stand and type without hunching over. Anyone else run into this problem where the add-on just doesn't work with your current setup?

Heard the risers can wobble bad once you put weight on them.

Yeah, wobble city once you lean on em. Better find another way to mount em.
