My grandma's meatloaf recipe turned into a brick last Sunday
I followed her handwritten card exactly, but the loaf came out so hard I could have used it for home repair. Turns out she wrote '1 cup breadcrumbs' but her handwriting is so bad I read it as '1 cup flour'. My husband tried to cut it and the knife just bounced off. Has anyone else misread a relative's recipe and ended up with something inedible?

Man, that's rough. Your poor grandma's recipe did you dirty.

Three Thanksgivings ago my aunt tried to reheat her famous stuffing in the microwave and it came out looking like wet sand, so I get how one little shortcut can wreck a whole tradition. My grandma's pie crust recipe was a family secret until my cousin added extra butter once and it turned into a flat, greasy mess. Ever had a holiday dish go sideways that should've been a sure thing?
