Just lost a full day's pay because I tried to save a few bucks on a cheap rasp that wore out after three horses.
Has anyone found a brand that actually holds up for a decent number of trims?

Man, I was the same way. Now I just buy the good ones and consider it a business cost.

My old boss swore by buying rasps from farrier supply houses, not general hardware stores. The steel is just different, made for constant hoof contact. I finally listened and my last one did almost forty horses before it felt dull.
