Shoutout to that old barn in Kentucky where I learned to nail a shoe without bending it

I was working a clinic in Lexington last fall and the lead farrier there made me re-do five shoes in a row because my clinches were uneven, and since then I've slowed way down and actually check my work before moving on has anyone else had a mentor who just would NOT let you slide?

Honestly, that's the kind of mentor who actually makes you better in the long run, even if it stings in the moment. Tbh, it's way too easy to get in a hurry and let small mistakes slide, especially when you're busy. Ngl, having someone who holds you to a higher standard is rare and you should hang onto that. Most people just nod and move on, but that level of detail is what separates a good shoe from a great one. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast, right?
