My zipper broke mid-presentation at a trade show in Chicago
I was at a big trade show in Chicago last spring wearing my favorite tailored blazer. Right before I had to walk on stage, the zipper on my jacket got stuck halfway up and I couldn't budge it. I panicked for a second, then grabbed a bar of soap from the bathroom and rubbed it along the zipper teeth. It slid right up and I made it on stage with 2 minutes to spare. Has anyone else used soap to fix a stuck zipper on a garment you designed?

That soap trick is wild, I gotta ask though. Was it a specific kind of soap bar, like one of those thin hotel ones or a big bar of Irish Spring? Because I feel like the thickness of the soap would change how much pressure you can put on the zipper teeth without snapping them. I've always used a pencil to scribble on the teeth when mine get stuck, but I can see how soap would work better for a fabric zipper that's snagging. Did you have to scrub it on there hard or just a light rub?

Man I tried it with a hotel soap bar once and basically shaved half of it off before my zipper even moved. I looked like a raccoon trying to wash a grape. Just give it a light rub, you don't need to go full strength on it.
