Pro tip: I had to pick between two fabrics for a custom dress last month

My client wanted a flowy summer dress, and I was stuck between a heavy linen and a light cotton voile. I went with the voile because it was only $18 a yard and draped better. I finished the dress last week and she loved how it moved in the wind. Has anyone else had to choose between two fabrics that seemed similar but changed the whole feel of a piece?
