Appreciation post: My sourdough starter finally doubled after I changed the water
I mean, my starter was just sitting there for like a week, barely bubbling at all. I was using tap water from my kitchen in Portland. On a whim, I switched to bottled spring water I had in the garage, and idk, maybe it's just me but within two days it was super active and actually doubled in size. I think our city water has something in it that was slowing things down. Has anyone else had a starter act weird with their local water?

Yeah, I had the same thing happen with my tap water.

A basic filter pitcher cleared mine right up. Took a few weeks to notice the change.
