My buddy's single comment made me stop buying lunch every day

He just said 'you're spending $15 a day on sad sandwiches and calling it convenience.' Did the math. That's $300 a month minimum. Switched to meal prepping Sundays and now I spend $50 a week on groceries. Anyone else have a friend call them out on a dumb money habit?

Man, that "sad sandwiches" line HITS HARD. I had a coworker tell me "dude, your daily coffee run is basically buying a used car every year" and I was FURIOUS until I did the math. $5.50 a day for a latte adds up to like $1400 a year. That's a decent vacation or a new gaming rig. Now I brew my own coffee at home and put that money toward actual stuff I want. The REAL kicker is those little habits we don't even THINK about. Your friend did you a solid honestly, even if it stung at first.

Whoa, hold up, $5.50 for a single latte? That's wild to me. I mean, I knew fancy coffee was expensive, but I always figured it was like three bucks tops. Did you get extra shots and syrups in that thing or what? That's practically a whole hour of work just for one drink, man. No wonder you were furious, I would've been too until I actually added it all up myself.
