Hot take: That fancy monitor arm I bought was a total waste of money
Bought a $150 gas spring arm last month and the thing sagged after 2 weeks with my 27-inch screen. I had to prop it up with a chunk of 2x4 from a scrap pile just to keep it level. Anyone else just go back to the stock stands and save the headache?

My buddy Mike had his $200 arm dump a 24-inch monitor onto his desk within a month.

A $200 arm dumping a monitor sounds more like user error than a product flaw honestly. I've seen people mount arms with drywall anchors rated for 20 pounds trying to hold a 15 pound monitor. That's just physics doing its thing. Plus Mike could've just gotten a Thursday afternoon unit where the factory worker was already checked out. One bad batch doesn't mean the whole product line is trash.
