Engineered vs solid hardwood on concrete slabs - which one do you swear by?

I did a job last month in Denver where the homeowner insisted on solid hardwood over a slab with a moisture barrier, and I've had nothing but callbacks for cupping. Meanwhile I've laid engineered on the same setup with zero issues. What's your go-to for slab installations - are you taking the risk with solid or sticking to engineered?

Engineered every time on slab, that moisture sandwich is a nightmare.

My uncle built a house on a slab back in '89 and the floors sweat every time it rains. Still gives me the creeps thinking about it.
