I messed up by not acclimating vinyl plank before install

Had a client call back because the planks started to gap after a few days. Turns out I left them in the cold truck overnight. Now I always let them sit in the room for a full day.

My cousin said the same thing happened with laminate in his sunroom. Basically any flooring needs to chill in the room first lol.

Actually, it's not just the temperature (like wyatt148's cousin saw). The bigger issue is letting the flooring match the room's humidity before you install it. Laminate needs like 48 hours just sitting in the open boxes. That's why @robin978 is right about swings, but it's moisture that really warps the planks.

Ugh, temperature swings can wreck ANY material.
