The day a storm drain flooded our spot and we had to move the whole truck in 20 minutes

We were set up in our usual downtown spot last Thursday when a sudden downpour hit. The storm drain right next to us backed up, sending a river of water right toward our service window. My partner yelled 'We gotta go, now!' and we had to pack up and drive to a backup location while the rain was still coming down hard. Has anyone else had to do a sudden emergency move like that?

Gotta go now" is the new battle cry for food trucks everywhere. Hope your backup spot had better plumbing!

Wade's got a point but waiting it out with a flooded service window is a bad look. Customers don't want to stand in a puddle to order food and you risk your whole setup getting ruined. Lucas is right though, that backup spot probably has its own problems you find out about later. Moving in the rain is miserable but sometimes the least bad option is the only option you've got. Nothing worse than packing up wet equipment and hoping nothing shorted out.

That backup spot probably had its own drainage issues. Sometimes staying put and waiting it out is the smarter move.
