Found my old Game Boy Color in a box of college stuff

I was cleaning out my closet last weekend and pulled out a plastic bin from my old dorm room. Under a pile of notebooks was my teal Game Boy Color with Pokemon Gold still in it. The batteries were dead, but after a quick trip to the store, it booted right up. My save file from 2002 was still there, with my level 70 Feraligatr. The screen is so dim compared to what we have now, but playing it just flooded me with memories of trading with friends at lunch. Anyone else have an old handheld that still works and holds a save after all this time?

Thought old saves died. Guess not.

Check your cloud backup settings. Sometimes they get turned off after an update. Found my old stuff in a weird local folder once too. Had to dig through the file system. Game saves can hide in places you forget about.
