Spent 3 hours fixing a sand mold crack that turned out to be just moisture in the green sand

Was it just me or has anyone else had a simple moisture issue waste half a shift before you finally grabbed a handheld meter and realized the sand was sitting too close to the cooling line?

Read a tip online once that you can microwave a small sample to check for moisture in under a minute. Saved me a ton of headache since I started doing that.
